My intrigue into the aftermath of Joseph’s exoneration, led me into finding out what happened
to the Accuser? I’m talking about the wife of Potiphar. Potiphar’s wife is quite a character, interestingly she is also found in the Quran. Now no name is given her in the Bible but according to narrations by Muslim scholars, she is named Zuleika.

Now, aside her obsession with this handsome dude, she had gone to search for his destiny. She
was told she would have children by Joseph. Hearing this I believe fueled her desire some more. The cards or perhaps the palm reading predicts a union so why not pursue that even if it’s immoral? This in a way justified her lust. She even invited friends to come and “look” at this extraordinarily handsome young man. Although her obsession was not materialized, it led to her falsely accusing an innocent man. Perhaps, if God were not on his side, he would have been killed. Assuming, it were a man who wasn’t under the favor of God.

Her quest into searching for Joseph’s future put her in a place of “God” . She began playing God
by pursuing that which had been predicted and a crazy urge to see it come to pass. She
became manipulative. She couldn’t let go. It was an act of mistrust in the hand of God accomplishing good things for us. Perhaps had she not gone there, her obsession might have been abated, perhaps.

The lesson for us here is to try as much as possible to desist from going to such mediums. It
shows our lack of faith in God. He will give a word in season and encourage us. What do we
gain from knowing the end? He knows it and has a route of escape should there be detours and
snares. What these mediums say maybe scanty, but they don’t detail all the events and possible failure of such utterances. And even if we knew our tomorrow, do we have the power to turn anything aside if it went amiss. Mostly we see ones actions after consulting such mediums rather cause undesirable outcomes.

The temptation may be there but, let’s exercise our faith by praying, staying on the narrow path
and speaking good things into our lives. May God help us and give us good prophets to speak a word in season as we build our lives on His word.

Guess what? Potiphar’s wife, Zuleika did have grandchildren from Joseph by her adopted daughter. So you see, the children she assumed would be hers weren’t even coming from her body. No article
on her having a child. Or perhaps her desire to have children drove her into such a risky route?
Only she knew but may God help us. No desire must take control of us to the point of going
downhill.. Amen
