The tongue has the power of life and death and those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21)

Scripture does not say “the power of our tongue is activated when we kneel or bow in prayer” or anything of that sort, rather what we confess is what we will see manifest. The way we go to God in prayer to affect situations in our lives is the same way our utterances also works or manifest whether we are conscious of them or not. The devil will always be looking for avenues to exploit and the only way he can do that is when we give him the permission through our actions and confessions.

We are all familiar with the phrase “you have the right to remain silent. Anything you SAY or do can and will be used against you in a court of Law”, even if you have not witnessed it personally, you have from movies watched. You may be innocent but once you confess guilty, you are done for. Likewise you may be guilty but so long as you confess innocence, you may be left off the hook (when they have no substantive evidence to prove you are guilty). This is the power our confessions hold.

One might not necessarily believe in what they say or confess but as they keep saying it, they will start believing and walking in it. There are many people who look back at their lives and remember things they said (good things even casually) reflecting in their lives. However when it comes to the bad things, we do not see them because we are quick to blame it on everyone else but ourselves. It is most likely not the witches or wizards, neither is it people plotting against you but simply your utterances that has gotten you into that bad situation you are in now. “For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.” 1 Peter 3:10.

One might not necessarily believe in what they say or confess but as they keep saying it, they will start believing and walking in it.

On any day, remember these two points;

  • No matter what the circumstance may be, Guard your tongue especially in your down moments. Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity. (Proverbs 21:23)
  • It doesn’t matter what people say about you or say to you but rather what God says. And this is what God says  For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

It is also never too late when you learn this to come to Christ and ask him for mercy. He has already paid the price on the Cross, so appropriate the Blood and confess positivity, goodness, favor, and His Grace  upon your life and into that situation.
